Month: April 2022
One of my managers was stressed out today. It's cool, it happens, I can ignore her roughly moving around boxes for a bit. Well, she snaps at one of my co-workers to help her out by unwrapping some of the inventory for her. Sure thing, co-worker says, and starts unwrapping items and placing them in trays. Five minutes later, manager comes over, doesn't say a single word, and dumps out the entire tray co-worker was working on. It's THEN that she says, “it's easier for me to put away if they're not in the trays.” Honest to God, how do these people act like this and get through life? I'm five seconds away from breaking eight of the ten commandments, I swear.
Workplace depression and anxiety
How do you guys cope with it?
Interesting job requirements
Saw a listing I was interested in but my vibe died after reading this “requirement” Excellent written communication skills, and the ability to connect with customers while off-shift (via cell phone or computer)
On leaving r/antiwork
I'm leaving r/antiwork. I joined this subreddit just before it really started blowing up. Now, this place has become infested with liberals who think the idea of abolishing work is “out-of-touch” and “too much to ask for” “We'll just unionize, and like, increase the minimum wage or something. I mean yeah the disabled and the neurodivergent we'll still leave rotting in the streets, but they're 'leeches' anyway. But at least stuff will be alright for white people again!” Whatever happened to “We are not free until we are all free”?
I dont understand finding coverage
I've worked a lot of jobs, in a lot of industries, and in none of them have I had to find my own coverage. Either there's a small amount of employees that all work the same schedule, or there's so many employees they'll just fill in the gaps of whoevers gone. I see all these posts on here about “finding coverage” and straight up don't understand how that's supposed to work, like are you supposed to have all your co workers contacts and personally ask them to take your shift? And if you're the one being asked are you expected to come in on your off time? Personally I would feel so guilty asking for someone to cover me, and maybe I've just been lucky with my jobs but my schedule is my schedule, I'm not coming in on my day off on short notice .
