I'm not sure if this is the right community for random work bullshit, but not sure who else to ask. I'm an hourly worker, our shifts are 11.5 hrs long. Yet when we have a paid holiday our company only pays us for 8 hrs. When we use PTO to get a day off, the expectation is that we use 11.5hrs of PTO. So when I hired in I thought I was getting 10 days vacation, but in reality it would be 6.9 days PTO. I can't find any documentation that actually defines any of this stuff in the handbook, nor can I find anything with google as to whether there is a legal definition of a vacation day, it seems like the general assumption by the world is that a vacation day is 8 hrs.
