I am not sure what I could possibly be doing wrong. First company I went through 2 rounds of interviews and then on the last round I sat in the video call for nobody to show up. I emailed them and nothing. This was 2 weeks ago.
Second and third companies (both interviews were this last Friday) says I crushed the interview and to be on the lookout for an invite to the next round. Since Friday, nothing. I sent follow up emails to both expressing my interest in the position. Short and sweet, not desperate. Nothing. I know it hasn't been a week, but I'm not sure why I would have heard nothing in 4 business days.
I don't know what could be up. I'm not aware of any background check they could run on me as I haven't given them permission or any information to do so (nor did they ask). Not that it would be a problem, I have an absolutely clean record. They don't have permission to contact any former companies. They haven't ask and I haven't provided references. Even if they did, nobody would say anything bad about me.
Is this normal? Searching for a job is stressful enough. Getting to the point of almost getting an offer only to be ghosted is absolutely demoralizing.
