I am bartending for a large event in Australia today. It is very strict and includes being very specifically groomed (makeup team on site). My shift started at 8:30am in which I had to arrive TWO hours before my shift for my accreditation. This is not payed.
To add, there is no parking so public transport is the only available option which takes an hour and a half where I from. My shift was then changed to 8am. Meaning I had to get here by 6am. I ended up somehow thankfully getting an Uber after 4 cancelled on me and I arrived at approx 5:57. Turns out the people that sign us on for our company aren’t even here. It’s 6:15 now. I had to pick up my friends from the airport last night and had a killer headache meaning I didn’t get to sleep till approx 2-2:30 meaning I’ve had two hours of sleep.
I HATE THIS.
Edit: One of the staff has arrived. No apologises, no nothing. I’ll add this is nearly a 12 hour shift.
