I'm gonna be vague here because I don't know if any of my new co workers are on Reddit.
First time posting, long time reader
Long post so here goes:
I started this new job Monday morning as an instructor in a certain field that I am proficient in but new to teaching. They say it's fine, I'm a people person and they will train me. Everyday I ask the other instructors for advice and if I can add to the conversation. They have literally mixed advice (Get super hands on/ sit back and let them figure it out) I'm confused so I mix them. This morning the manager (who has literally never stood next to me to teach or see how I teach) told me that there is a lack of cohesion on MY end and I should be looking for a new job in the next couple of weeks if this persists.
I'm dumb founded…. “Why?”
“Well one of the other instructors complained about you countering them in front of a student.”
Then it hits me and my blood BOILS.
Monday afternoon- I am assigned a student with difficulties and spend 2 1/2 hours teaching them tricks to help and guess what…. They help! The female instructor runs over WHILE I am helping them (Literally takes over while I'm right there) saying she knows tricks to help this student. Fast forward an hour and she completely got them fuddled up and couldn't complete a simple task. Day is ended and we want to go home so I simply walk over and say “Hey Student you got this, I know you do. Knock it out.” Three minutes later we were headed home.
After it clicked, I waited and told the supervisor what happened but didn't seem to care and then factoid 2 hit
All week- Female instructor is often sitting, hands off approach. Supervisor is usually hanging with her or doing projects (legit things needing to be done, nothing perverted or suspicious) but I think he has a crush on her.
For those if they wonder I live in the States. Middle of them.
Edit Me (35M) I'm middle ground knowledgeable.
