Hello everyone. I'm 41and a high school graduate, I've been working in a prison since I'm 21. January I will be there 20 years. I started as a CO and worked my way up to Lieutenant. I make 70k a year, and my healthcare is amazing. Even though I'll have 20 years in, I can't retire until I'm 55 because I cant collect my pension. We have a 403b pension. I'm burnt out, bad. I don't know if I can physically make it another 14 years. My stress and anxiety is starting to manifest into physical health problems. I've tried to apply to other jobs, but employers seem to not give a shit about my leadership experience in such a dangerous, high stress environment. I personally supervise 60+ staff members everyday. How am I supposed to quit and start over with a wife, two kids, mortgage etc?
