During a zoom meeting, boss discussed about “we are a family” then the classic “work like you own this business”. Coworker replied, forgetting that he is not muted; “then pay like we own it”.

As the title says. Not sure if it is right to post it here, as we are not exactly in “bad relations” in terms of work environment and salary (we are paid enough, but not enough to stay if a better opportunity comes in). But just want to share what happened earlier. And the funny part, boss emailed him few minutes after “the discussion”, telling him to refrain himself to say any unnecessary remarks or else next time he would be written up for “inappropriate behavior”. Our team was like, “why are you crying”. Lol.
