My boss died suddenly

For context, I came from a really shitty and toxic company. My last boss was a total nightmare. I was on medical leave for depression when I interviewed for my current job. My boss saw something special in me and hired me. We just found out this week that he had passed away, we don’t know any details. But it was just so sudden. He really was a great person and a great leader. He had our backs and treated us like we were on the same level. We just found out this week that he had passed away, we don’t know any details. But it was just so sudden. He really was a great person and a great leader. He had our backs and treated us like we were on the same level. I intended to stay there as long as I needed to, to give myself time to heal from the past. It isn’t the best paying job, but it was worth it to me to be treated so well. He told me that the sky was my limit and he would absolutely support me in whatever I wanted to do and would help get me there.

The company, which I never had a problem with before, is just moving on business as usual. He was taken off the directory the next day, and it was as if he was never there. It’s so angering to see the company carry on as normal and it feels like the same is expected of my team. I work for corporate America and I knew this was the reality, but to actually see it with my own eyes, happening with such a wonderful person is extremely disheartening and makes grieving this loss that much more difficult.
