First interview was for a position as a housekeeper at a casino. I applied a week ago, got an email from their hiring office about scheduling a phone interview, I answered back with my phone number and time/date that worked and they confirmed they would be in touch then.
The time came and went this morning (10:20AM), no phone call. I checked and provided all the correct information. I emailed them regarding why they hadn’t called and if we could reschedule and was met with the reply that, “We are sorry, the position has been filled”.
Second interview was for a clerk at a local gas station chain. Interview was for 11:00AM, via Indeed, video call interview. I get into the call at 10:55AM, make sure it’s working, and sit and wait for half an hour. The screen just said, “Please wait for your interviewer to arrive”. Unsure what happened there but regardless it was a no show.
I am applying for jobs I don’t necessarily want but I desperately need an income and insurance. I am doing my part, I am applying and showing up. Yet I keep hearing, “No one wants to work these days”, while being ghosted by employers. Fuck this.
