My company lets people leave two hours early on the day before a holiday, but leaves it up to each individual department to decide

For the second time in a row, my team has been told that we are unable to leave early due to the amount of work to do. Your lack of staffing and preparation is not my problem. It's so frustrating. Edit: I understand that this is a first world problem lol but that doesn't make it any less frustrating
