I have a stomach virus so yesterday I called my boss as they have a “notify 4 hours before policy”. I tell my manager I won’t be able to work the following day and she says “can’t you just call in tomorrow ?” in the rudest tone.
I call again today as she wished to say I am still sick and still can’t make it in. She immediately guilts me about how much I’m letting them down how she needs me there or else I’m creating such a horrible day for her and all my coworkers . I tell her I’m literally throwing up and “i understand but I can’t compromise my health” she hangs up angrily and yells have a good day then !!! she straight up didn’t believe me . ?!? (This is a food business I can’t be throwing up near food )
Am I in any way in the wrong ??? I practically gave her a days notice.
I already put in my two weeks , I’ll be out of here soon , but this made me realize what a dystopian we are living in 🙁 just for one little sick day all this drama
