You know, I could say a lot about the nitty gritty of the dental field and being an assistant… but it all boils down to this:
I am sick and fucking tired of being expected to work my ass off and working such an integral position yet not making enough to survive. I am sick and tired of watching my bosses drive luxury vehicles and living in fancy 3,000+ sqft homes with a view, while the people who actually make the office profitable and work the hardest seriously struggle to make ends meet.
I get that dentists went through a lot of school. I am not asking for them to not have nice things or make the most out of everyone in the office. I just want to make enough money to be able to live my very basic lifestyle and save a tiny bit. I do not live lavishly or frivolously. I work a skilled position that I am very good at. There is no legitimate reason for dental assistants to make such trash wages.
