I completely understand the reasoning for shutdowns and quarantine, and I am glad that the daycare my child goes to is practicing the proper safety protocols. However, they are still requesting all the parents to pay in full regardless of shutdowns. Now, what gave me solace was that I was hoping that our money would still be going to the teachers and that they were being paid during the shut downs. Come to find out today from his teacher that they are NOT in fact paying the teachers. Also, they had a PPP loan for the amount of $305k forgiven last year that was categorized as being distributed solely for payroll.
As a working individual, I am PISSED that our money is not going to these teachers who sacrifice so much. Also, I think the daycare must be THRILLED when there's a shutdown because it's more money in their pocket.
I guess I'm wondering what can I do? Am I able to report this business to the state? What are some channels I can go through to help these teachers?
Side note, there was supposed to be a parent conference, but it was postponed until February (still TBD), so I was planning on bringing this up then too.
