I had been working at a bowling alley for 3 months full time. I was getting 160+ hours a month +tips all of a sudden June comes around and I'm cut to 32 hours for the month without warning. I tried to ask what was going on and got no response. I messaged my boss to inform them that I can't come in until payday this month because all of my money was spent on rent and I'm not able to eat for the week. They took me off the schedule entirely and I don't even know if I'm fired or not. Luckily on the 30th I got a new job however this is not okay if I weren't living with my girlfriend my job would have effectively made me homeless with no recourse for another job as I would have no address.
I want to take legal action to ban this as a labor practice. We cannot grow in an economy that can destroy young people starting out and set them back for possibly years.
