Companies have no clue what to do in this labour market

Today we had a call with some upper level management and one of the topics that came up was hiring new employees. They said they have a generous referral reward( which was slashed by 33% from previous reward amount) and they are ready to hire a ton of people. They were like we have those benefits, generous packages, we work for this client and all that BS jazz. And then I inquired since the market is so hot what are they doing to retain talent. All I heard was crickets. They didn’t know what say. For all the experience and degrees and shit this so called top level management knows jack shit about retaining employees and this is the case across all industries. Management fucking takes employees for granted and does not attend to them first and are ready to bust out $$$ for some random person who they interview…

Take care of your employees first then look outward.
