Basically, I got this new job at a restaurant where we have >25 employees (just barely, but we do) and the law here in California is $14/h for sub-25 and $15/h for >25 employees. It's only a 1 dollar increase, but it adds up. I really like my job though and worry if I bring it up I'm less likely to be promoted, or I might be fired. It's only a 1 location business, so there isn't really another boss I can bring it up to.
