So I landed a job a few months ago with private contractor that does government contracts. Signed a contract that was contingent on me passing a government security clearance. Was told security clearance can take anywhere from 6-12 weeks so i just gotta wait.
So I wait. I stopped looking for other jobs.
At week 9 I am feeling antsy, like what's the hold up? I am ready to quit my current job. Let's fucking go. Contact person in charge of background checks at week 9, nothing. At week 10, Contact HR person I signed my contract with and today get this reply “We have not received additional funding to staff this role. At this time we will not be moving forward.”
Seriously?!?! Like wtf. Why the fuck they out trying to hire people for roles they don't have any money for?? Like I waited cause all they fucking told me was I had to pass clearance not that I had to see if they had the budget…
