As a note I work all day on the computer, as a one man advertising department/graphic designer for a large company. The dress code is suit and tie, even though I just work on the computer all day and I never actually meet with the clients coming in. Well my boss met with me, and he said if I checked the schedule and there were no meetings scheduled, I could dress down.
