I find that I have a great employer. It’s a pretty blue collar job. I received a 20k sign on bonus and wages are about 115-120k a year. The kicker is that they only allow 3 holidays off. (New Years, Christmas and thanksgiving) The rest of the holidays you must work which sucks. They however realize this sucks. So here is what they pay:
10 hours straight time
$50 show up bonus (just for clocking in)
Time and a half for all hours worked that day.
On the 4th of July I worked 11 hours.
That paid $860 for one day of work.
I do realize it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and respect not everyone is willing or wanting to work more than 40 hours. But my employer definitely pays; which is ultimately why I go there.
