UPS is hiring in my area for package handlers. I clicked on the job posting, followed the link, and was hired without an interview for a 3am-9am shift Tues-Sat.
In over 20 years of working jobs like this, I've never needed to be there before 7am, so this was going to be a sleep schedule adjustment.
On my second Saturday, I slept through my alarm and woke up about the time my shift was ending, so I just assumed I was fired.
This morning, my supervisor texted me at 4am wondering if I was on my way. I replied at 7am, saying that I assumed that I had been fired for no call/no show on Saturday.
She replied: “If no one said you were fired, you still work here.”
I replied: “See you in the morning then.”
After no call/no show 2 days in a row, I still have my job there, lol.
