As the title says, my company and about 500 of my coworkers are getting “terminated”.
My company had recently sold-off our department to another company so I knew changes were coming, but everyone including upper-management thought we would be okay.
We had a mandatory meeting today from the CEO; he stated in the meeting there will be 3 groups: those staying with current company, those moving to new company and those who will be “terminated”. I was obviously in the later.
What advice do you have for me? It sounds like our “final” work dates won’t be till later this year and they are offering a standard severance. For context, I am a relatively young person. Bachelor in HR, got this job out of college and have been here since. I have no major experience worth noting other than this job. So giving the middle finger isn’t much of an option; I need the reference.
