So I’ll keep this short, I joined this company 3 years ago there was a team of 4 approx 6 months in the manager and a colleague got made redundant.
I was happy to have a job especially as it was during covid but in the back of my mind I was aware my work load had literally doubled.
But hard work never hurt anybody ! So fast forward until December 21 my team mate hands in his notice and a message comes from the Directors that they are not replacing him. Which really shocked me in the past 2 years we both had very minimal pay rises.
However I thought if I keep my head down and work hard and not moan about it then surely they are going to a reasonable pay rise even though me doing the work of 4 people isn’t sustainable.
Now to bring you up to date, randomly had a job offer from a friend very good salary.
Told work my intentions….. they begged me to stay saying tell us what you want don’t be shy give us an honest figure.
So I pondered on it for a few days and then asked them for the same salary as the Manager was on two years ago and bearing in mind he had a team underneath him.
They asked for some time to think it over …. 7 weeks later they ask me for a meeting and state that they are having a company restructure and that managers position won’t exist anymore and then low balled me on the salary by 4K off and saying that if I continue to perform well then that’s when I will get my salary increase
I’m so close to telling them where to stick their job
