How do I convince my employer that their wages need to match inflation?

Every work meeting I bring up that the cost of living has gone up, and they say “We can't just hand out more money; people want better management, better benefits, etc…” I tell them that paying us more would guarantee we reduce turnover and every time they try to tell me that nobody actually wants more money. Today they said “If we raise our pay then the other companies will raise their pay and then inflation will go up.” I got cut off before I could interject with “But inflation is going up regardless, so if you DON'T raise our pay to match, we'll have no choice but to leave and work for somebody who pays us enough to make rent.”
