“No one wants to work anymore,” while we work around hundreds working.

While delivering product to a new hospital an electrical foreman tells us, “no one wants to work anymore.” It’s unprompted while we are surrounded by hundreds of folks all working to open up a new rural hospital. Seeing about six different trades work at the same time is almost magical to witness especially during the finishing stages. Construction in my state is the most active it’s been in decades much like most of the country. Apartment complexes, commercial real estate, housing subdivisions, and private contracting is producing everything at record time and efficiency. But somehow these massive projects in every corner of my state are being built without any workers because, “no one wants to work anymore.” 🤷‍️🤷‍️🤷‍️
