My friend has worked at this company for years. Their hours were 8-4, but they elected to work through their paid) 30 minute lunch break and would leave at 3:30. This was never an issue with management/the owner and my friend is their hardest working/most productive/highest revenue generating employee.
This morning all employees were informed they have to take a now UNPAID 30 minute lunch AND two 15 minute breaks, and must stay until 5pm.
Is it just me or does it not seem fair that they’re now taking up 9 hours of my friend’s life when they go above and beyond and just so happen to finish their work by 3:30?
Friend no longer feels any motivation to work hard for said employer.
(Employer was also caught by friend yesterday putting GPS on all the company vehicles and they weren’t planning on informing anyone about it)
