what to do if your boss won’t approve your time off

I’d be missing 3 weekdays plus a weekend (which is not even part of my availability) and I offered to make myself available for any extra shifts or weekends next month besides these dates. My boss is pissed that I’m “the 4th person to ask for time off next month” when a.) our job isn’t officially open to the public yet and we have no official date when it will be- we thought we’d be open 6 months ago. It’s also not like we all planned to do this at the same time. and b.) I already bought tickets to travel out of the country for a family reunion that I absolutely cannot miss. He said he’ll talk to me about it tomorrow but this really isn’t optional for me. He blew up on my coworker who asked him about her time off earlier today and made her cry. I…

He said he’ll talk to me about it tomorrow but this really isn’t optional for me. He blew up on my coworker who asked him about her time off earlier today and made her cry. I don’t want this to negatively effect my job, I just think this is all completely unreasonable.
