Hi, I work full time for a movie theatre company ( a relatively big / well known one, starts with A ) anyway, today when I walked into work I saw that they posted a sign in the break room regarding vaping at work or in the breakroom and following rules like not cussing or gossiping etc, I shrugged it off because I don’t vape at work and I don’t cuss at work either nonetheless an hour into my shift I get called into the office by the managers. They then proceed to tell me that the reason they’re questioning me is because I was seen in the break room around 6:30, I proceed to tell them “I was on my ten and I was talking to others about video games, I also don’t smoke at work I never have and never will,” what’s confusing to me is they’ve already fired the person who was vaping at work so why tell me that there was complaints about the break room smelling like weed? To top it off, they still made me write a statement and reprimanded me for taking a break longer than ten minutes when I didn’t, I just feel enraged and targeted, am I overreacting? 🙁
