Working almost full time hours but they won’t hire me full time, should I contact HR?

I work in retail and I'm working on what I think are my state's full-time hours requirement, (30 to 32 or 35) but they won't hire me as full-time because they claim that I need to be more confident. I really feel like this was a kind of excuse to not hire me full-time, rather than a valid reason not to hire me full-time. I feel like if I was made full-time I would have more experiences to prove myself and to show that I can do things on my own, but because I'm part time sometimes my hours can be I work a lot in one week or I don't work at all for like several days. My calls for managers have gone way down, it's not every second that I'm calling out for help from a manager, and when I do need help or when I feel uncomfortable…

I feel like if I was made full-time I would have more experiences to prove myself and to show that I can do things on my own, but because I'm part time sometimes my hours can be I work a lot in one week or I don't work at all for like several days.

My calls for managers have gone way down, it's not every second that I'm calling out for help from a manager, and when I do need help or when I feel uncomfortable I would like someone there to support me and not have to feel like I have to be uncomfortable in order to work full-time on my own. That's kind of what it seems like and it really kind of hurts honestly because I do a lot for my position and I don't feel like I'm paid fairly for what I'm doing.

I help manage orders, I help customers find what they need, I manage a line on the side where issues are being dealt with, I down stock items, I fix shelving, I help customers check out, and pretty soon I might even be doing more than that. But I don't know what that is. I'm only getting paid a little above 15 right now and I know that other places are hiring in retail for more. I have tried to negotiate my wage, but I haven't heard anything back yet. I'm wondering if I should contact HR? Was the reason that they didn't hire me discriminatory? Can you be fired for contacting HR.

What do you think I should do if my company doesn't see my potential, do you think it's worth staying and proving my potential? Or do you think that it is time to find a different job? I will say that the discount is really good for the company that I work for, so I would miss out on that, but I want to be paid what I think I should be paid, and I also want to do less than what I'm currently doing and I know that I can do that. Someone in my company says that I am on the path to full-time, but I don't know when that will be. Also my job is entirely dependent on how the customer feels I did, and how I am doing from a membership, sales standpoint. I don't want to reveal where I work because I am afraid I will get fired for posting this, but I will say that I work in a place that sells a lot of technology and other items. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

TLDR: The company won't hire me full time, says I'm on the path to full time. Don't know when that change will be. Feel like I'm being unfairly paid. Don't know what to do, stay or go?
