I worked every single day for the first three weeks on a full time schedule for training. This job is $15 an hour. Got paid only $300. The first week I was off training on a part time 4 day a week $15 an hour 6-7 hour a day schedule I got paid $220. This past week I worked 3 days, 5-7 hours a day (usually 7) $15 an hour and got paid just a measly $130!
I did a background check on my manager. Comes to find out he's been taken to small claims court twice. Once he was sued for $500 and the other time for $2000. I wonder why.
I try my best to work my ass off at this job. It's my first ever job, especially in a retail setting. My manager rushed us through training so quickly and usually had us on the floor when he wasn't supposed to during trainings. He even told us to just skip through and cheat our way through the entire trainings so we could get out on the floor while he called the trainings “useless garbage that we don't need” when in reality the trainings went over how to do everything in detail. So I did that… I obeyed… And once I went on the floor I knew nothing. I didn't know how to work the tablets (I work for T-Mobile), I didn't know how to check out customers or help them. I didn't know anything and this manager was super mad that he had to help me.
But I went above and beyond. I would clean everything at the end of the day, doing the majority of the janitorial work. I would even clean their dirty toilets and stay up to two hours after to do the cash tills.
Anyway, yesterday I confronted both my district manager and this store manager about my paycheck being so off. I did this in a very respectful manner. Yesterday was when he also gave us all our schedules… After the confrontation I had with him. Surprise surprise, he cut ALL my hours for this week! All of them! Originally I at least had Friday to work, but he scratched that off as well! I legit have no hours.
I'm at a loss. Idk what to do. Should I quit? How do I quit my first job that I've barely even begun at? Is there anything else I should do besides quit to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else?
