Tourist town doesn’t pay decent wages so their workers can’t afford to live there. Outcome? Unable to run businesses due to “short staffing”

Visited a newer tourist town in the south and was greeted by signs in front of stores and restaurants stating “please be patient, we are short staffed” or “new hours due to short staffing” or “closed today to due to short staffing”. The greed for wanting tourist money is being canceled out by their refusal to pay a livable wage to their workers. If your staff can’t afford to live and work in your town, you might be doing something wrong.
