CVS is a joke

I posted this in the CVS subreddit but since I lurk here and it’s relevant to this sub, I figured I’d copypasta. I’ve been working in retail off and on for the last decade. I’ve done all different kinds of jobs in between (including fish processing in Alaska), this is easily the worst job with the worst management I’ve ever had. The store manager is an alcoholic. You can smell booze or mouth wash on his breath all times of the day. The store itself looks like shit. You can’t even stock totes properly because half the aisles have product jammed everywhere haphazardly. We’re understaffed (of course) so I essentially have to handle the entire front by myself from 2-10. Everything from stocking, passport photos, photo orders, answering the phone, all different kinds of customer service and customer complaints go through me. They’ve offered to promote me to shift supervisor…

We’re understaffed (of course) so I essentially have to handle the entire front by myself from 2-10. Everything from stocking, passport photos, photo orders, answering the phone, all different kinds of customer service and customer complaints go through me. They’ve offered to promote me to shift supervisor a few times and I’m not stupid enough to take it.

The assistant manager constantly smells like weed. I have nothing against stoners but needing to do it all day constantly seems indicative of a problem. I haven’t done one training module yet because they put me to work immediately (no training). Now they’re saying I better get all of my modules done before the 24th or I’m in trouble.

Oh, and I still can’t even clock in after 3 weeks of working here. I have to write down my hours and hope these morons don’t bilk me out of money I earned.

I’m very tempted to go to corporate with all this shit and knock the dominoes down. Any advice?

Edit: for clarification I work in the retail department (selling overpriced shampoo and whatnot)
