I'm the type of worker that hardly calls out, only if I'm deathly sick. (This was pre-Covid) a few years ago. Always on time, work hard, (too hard if you ask me), and I even snapped a tendon in my ankle and I was asked to keep working if I could, although I was limping at a highly physical demanding job.
Anyways, one morning somehow my phone alarm didn't set when I know I set it. I slept in, and I got a phone call I didn't hear because I had it on vibrate. I wake up a few hours late, and head into work. I didn't bother calling because I live 1 minute down the road. I get to work, and the supervisor on shift told me one of the other managers knocked on my door (which I also didn't hear). I guess they were genuinely concerned about me because it's out of character for me not to show up. But I find it really odd that it happened, regardless.
Anyone else have a manager come to your house to get you to come to work?
