I’m a new hire X-ray tech, who has their NCT license to do limited X-rays for a hospital. I got licensed in 2019, and have been between X-ray jobs due to Covid-19. I was hired two weeks ago, and I am a hard worker, very personable, I’m amazing with patients. My boss has not seen me do one X-ray, but she has gotten “feedback” from the other co workers and they’re extremely negative. One co worker went out of her way to tell my boss that I had my shirt tied up in the back and that it was unprofessional. (My shirt was tied up in the back because I was given a 1XX work shirt during orientation, because that is all they had, and I can’t afford new scrubs right now so I wore that work shirt and my scrub bottoms.) Anyway, Another co worker nit picks everything I do, and degrades me in front of patients. I worked hard to get this job, and now they don’t want me there. I recorded mine and my boss’s whole conversation yesterday and have proof of her saying that she doesn’t have time to train me, and that termination is the end result if I’m not “up to par by Friday, tomorrow.) I cried my eyes out all night, I’m finally in a job where I want to be, and making the most I’ve ever made. What do I do? Do I conduct a meeting with her boss? Or should I skip above all of them, and reach out to the CEO? This isn’t my first rodeo where I have been treated this way in the healthcare field, and for this to happen again is disheartening. My X-rays are anatomically correct, just because I completed a short NCT course doesn’t make me not competent to the others who have commented their 2 year X-ray tech degree. What do I do? Thank you.
