Backstory: About 3 months ago, my wife needed a hysterectomy and scheduled the surgery for it. My work knew about this the day that was it scheduled.
I asked off from the July 18-30 and her outpatient surgery was the 19.
Because of the pain and soreness, we just got home today (July 21 from the motel we stayed at) and they just now texted me asking if I can work Saturday from 8-5.
She has not been even out been out of the hospital 48 hours from abdominal surgery, still having trouble going to the bathroom by herself and they are asking me to return to work.
EDIT: I work retail, and there are plenty of others to do it, but as my wife said, “They must have some huge ones to do that.”
