With the recession beginning, there will likely be layoffs while companies shore up their finances.
With that said, I know I'm valuable at my present work. But the excessive “everything is on fire” mentality is killing it for me. The burnout is strong in this one.
My hesitancy is due to if I leave my position for another, I'll likely be expendable in the instance of layoffs. I've got a family of 5 that needs supported, so taking that gamble seems a highly risky move.
I'm at a loss. Do I take the security for my family in these hard times? Or jump ship for my own sanity, but with the likelyhood of landing face first in this potentially shrinking job market?
I'm at a loss.
Honestly, I'm half thinking about just going to college (been out of school for almost 2 decades), and just stay in until this all blows over, while supporting my family with student loans (that maybe get dissolved in our potential future (too hopeful, I know)).
