Why are sales positions commission only 99% of the time and the postings never mention that?

I have a background in sales so when I go on Indeed to see what kinds of jobs are out there I see a ton of sales positions. A lot of them will advertise $80-100k pay but never mention that it’s commission only/form 1099. I recently interviewed for a sales position and logged into the Zoom call to find about 15 other people on the call with me. The interviewer then says that we’re having a group interview to see if the job matches what we’re looking for. Here’s an idea: TELL US IN THE JOB POSTING. I wasted my lunch break on this call only to find out at the end that isn’t a set salary with bonuses, all pay is commission based. While that might work for someone, it doesn’t for me. It’s bad enough that I lied to my current boss about why I was taking lunch so late but to have the whole thing be a complete waste really grinds my gears.
