Newbie electrician here. I was recently “let go” from my first ever job in the trade and now im glad. Part of the process of being hired onto this new company was an 8 hour safety class to teach the dangers of working in the trade. This made me realise all the sketchy shit they made me do which eventually ended in a minor injury to my leg. No PPE provided nor required on jobs, reuntinely working on circuits hot to increase our speed, heck, we didn't even have a fire extingisher nor any first aid at our warehouse/office. Especially concerning because the owner was a hoarder and blocked multiple hallways in the office full of his personal junk, and because the reason they didn't have a fire extinguisher was because of a small eletrical fire that happend months ago and then they just never replaced it.
TLDR: New much safer work enviroment made feel lucky i got out of a bad one
