Thought I hit the jackpot, what amazing luck, my job hired me right away, and offered me an awesome opportunity… My manager has ghosted me… Supposedly out saving the life of an animal 500 miles away. Every turn and question she buffers and runs away, always giving me lines of ‘don't worry I'll get to it.’ she hasn't gotten to it and now has put me in a very dangerous position with a new untrained staff member with no communication on what would be happening that day. Can't reach her though because she's saving the world 500 miles away. The other owners (there are 3, she is one, her husband another, their best friend/accountant the third) I can't get a clear line of communication from any of them. This job is very serious and handles in dealing with sharp objects and the safety of animals and people. My job is a franchise who do I even go to?
Should I show up to work tomorrow? I haven’t heard an answer back on any line on what I’m supposed to do. I showed up today but left after an hour of BS.
Edit: my managers sole job is to make the schedule. She didn’t do it for this week. 4 am she updates schedule. 12pm (hour before work) I get an alert. My grandfather is currently undergoing radiation for his throat cancer and I asked that she gives me at least 20 hrs to respond since I’m his primary ride to and from the doctor and didn’t even see the alert to clock in for your shift until 12pm. My other managers know this but are also heartless 🙂
