Direct Management berated me for a mistake so insignificant it changes absolutely nothing.

Berated might be a strong word, but I've dealt with passive aggressive people my entire life and honestly I'm fucking tired of it. A little bit of backstory: I work in cash transportation, specifically an armed guard. I sit in the back of a truck all day and only get out when I'm delivering money, servicing an ATM, or using the restroom. In my eyes(if I was management) I'd consider myself a model employee with a strong work ethic. I don't call off, I don't miss work, I show up early and leave late(I don't do this because I want to, I do it because I was raised in the south and it was ingrained in me that if I wasn't working I was a lazy bum. I don't have this viewpoint for anyone else but myself. This is still pretty fresh on my mind and I want to get…

This is still pretty fresh on my mind and I want to get it out while I'm still mad and not complacent, but today at work I messed up. I'll admit my mistakes, I'm not a perfect person. Before leaving for the route I swapped bags with this guy I work with because that bag for him would be an hour out of the way to deliver and for me it's a short detour right off of the interstate.

The bag I picked up and signed for was a single character off of the bag that was meant to go where I was taking it. Basically I picked up and signed for the wrong bag. Honestly any other day that would be a big deal, but today I happen to be crossing paths with the same guy I picked up the bag from, so we can swap the necessary bags and go on our merry way delivering them to where they need to go. The customers still get their money on the scheduled day, the branch doesn't have to finagle anything around to make it work. As far as mistakes go? Minor as hell.

But enter lower level manager, we'll call him Chad. Chad has this thing about calling everyone out on everything no matter how minor. He's done it to other emloyees and unless stopped he'll do it again. Chad is passive aggressive as fuck and makes snide remarks diminishing the work merit of those around him.

Chad makes a back handed comment about me not being able to read.

Maybe I'm overreacting, maybe he was just being light-hearted, but God damn I know I fucked up. Shit happens and it doesn't happen all that often when I work.

So anyway, yeah I wanna unionize the branch now. We don't get paid overtime even though we consistently work 60 hour weeks.
