Just had my performance review and my boss had nothing but good things to say. My stakeholders gave high marks, I exceeded targets, etc. The past year I’ve been working overtime and doing the job of 2 engineers because our department keeps losing engineers. I only got a 2.5% raise (1.5% lower than last year’s raise) even though my performance rating is still marked exemplary. And yes, the company is doing fantastic financially. Boss asked how I felt about my raise then asked what the company can do to attract/retain more engineers. I wanted to laugh. I guess compliments are supposed to pay my bills and combat inflation. Time to jump ship?..
