Submitted A unpaid wages claim against my former employer

Title pretty much suns it up, but I finally got news today from the state board who has been reviewing my case. Back in December of 2021 , I had quit my job due to the toxic work environment due to what my manager had caused me. I worked until December 21, and I had submitted my 2 week notice the 9th , but didn’t show up to work my last 2 days just as the atmosphere at work had gotten so bad due to me quitting ( his best employee). Due to me not finishing up the whole month of December, my employer (HR) did not pay me for my bonuses I had accumulated (the reason I filed unpaid wages). No where in the employer handbook did it state that I needed finish out the month to get my fully earned bonuses. I am still owed $600. The state…

The state labor board reached back out to me in February to confirm I was wanting to submit the case. They submitted upon my approval and contacted the HR. They requested all paystubs and such, and saw an email interaction from back when I was rehired that the pay was agreed upon $15 an hour. Upon them looking at each individual pay stub, they saw that I was underpaid from June 10th 2021 – June 16th 2021 and only got paid $13.25 for 40 hours. They also found another discrepancy for a very small amount. Turns out after my HR fought the bonus claim, they dug further for me and found I am legally owed $98 for getting paid lesser than what was agreed upon.

I am still not knowing how to proceed getting the bonus claim settled if HR is really just going with their word and none of it is stated in the employee handbook.

Also wanted to share that they dug into my case for 6 months which I didn’t even know I was underpaid for 1 weeks worth of work. Sucks to suck HR.
