Showed up to work yesterday and was asked to head into his office. My company has a stupid app that we clock in and out of and sometimes it just doesn't work. I walk a half mile to work everyday and usually show up about a half hour early, and start work 5 minutes early. I try to clock in but sometimes it doesn't let me until about 3-4 minutes after my start time.
He explained to me that I was accruing points because of my tardies. I looked at him flabbergasted, and stated that he has seen me here early everyday, why would I intentionally not clock in on time? Then I explained to him that they don't pay me enough to be this petty, and that there are plenty of higher paying opportunities I can go for. He got very agitated and followed m.back out to the sales floor, ranting about how I was being unprofessional. He started jumping down my co workers throats about things they have been doing “wrong” . Then I asked to speak to th store director, and that's when he lost it. He said, and I qoute ” I RUN THIS FUCKING DEPARTMENT, NOT THE STORE DIRECTOR. THIS IS MY FUCKING DEPARTMENT! AND ANON (ME) IF YOU TALK ABOUT QUITTING ONE MORE TIME I'LL PUSH YOU OUT THE DOOR MYSELF”
I was shocked. He left for the day so I finished my shift, and did some thinking. I called my brother in law, and he offered me a position at his business, and I gladly accepted. I can't wait to see the look on my managers face today when I put in my two weeks.
