So a throwaway just in case.
My office is implementing a new policy where we no longer have desks. We will have to remove all personal belongings from our current space and bring them home. I don’t know how many of us there are exactly, maybe a little over 100? We are a branch off of a large company.
We’ve always had staffing issues where we are understaffed but I guess they’re trying to fix that problem. Instead of getting more desks they’re just going to have us share.
This makes me really sad because my office is outdated and depressing. Without any personality on the walls I fear the morale will fall to unprecedented levels. I’m already depressed but that’s a personal thing, not that it’s their problem I guess. Not sure how I’ll do.
A few key people will be allowed a permanent desk but they’re not allowed personal belongings either. I think management is allowed to keep theirs decorated. We aren’t allowed to work from home full time just partially.
It just feels like they don’t care about us. There’s other reasons I’m unhappy but I may look for another job now. I know it seems so silly and stupid but it meant a lot to me.
