A little ranting, I’m exhausted and stressed

I have been 7 years working in the same company. It's not my dream job but it paid the bills. The company was going fine but, after some very bad decisions from management and a lack of investment, the company started plummeting and then covid came and things got worse… The company was transferred in-family and one of the first things they did was to cut costs. They fired our supervisor (after 15 years working there) and left only 3 full-time workers and 1 half-time. They told us we needed to cut costs if their “investment” (they started infusing money into the company) was to give fruits, so that was the hard decision they had to make. But they insisted they were doing all they could to keep the company afloat and that they would be looking for someone with a sales profile that could help steer us in the right direction. I explicitly asked if, after firing the person with the highest wage, if they would give us all a raise. They said they looked forward to it, but that they needed to fill the sales role first. Another thing they told us they would do to “cut costs” was to pay us later (we usually got paid the 26th, now supposedly the 1st).

First red flag was when one of the managers told me in confidence that they wanted to discuss wages individually. I definitely made the whole team know. Later the girl that worked half time left, and they found a sales person. Much to our surprise, the “sales person” was basically the same profile as our last supervisor, and she was actually hired for the role of supervisor/sales. So now I am basically teaching my supervisor how the company works, since not even the managers know.

Now it's August 2nd and I still did not get paid. Every month I'm getting paid the 2nd, the 3rd or latest and I am getting tired of their excuses. They won't admit they are basically transfering the money the 1st and it takes too long to get to our accounts. We are all very uncomfortable with this situation because they are not offering solutions, they don't wanna give raises and every decision they make seems to be against the employees.

Just wanted to vent, I've been looking for a new job, even if it's paid worse but more related to my actual field. But it's been pretty rough.
