We lost 4 people at work in a month.
One was a part timer high school student who always made excuses for not showing up to work. Excuses like needing to practice for basketball season(which is valid but when you only work part time you can practice around your job).
One only wanted to work weekends and idk what happened to her she was just not added to the schedule starting a few weeks ago.
One took a week and a half off over a potassium deficiency then said “oh btw I'm actually not coming back” without warning, leaving the rest of us on our asses scrambling to find someone to cover.
And this weekend, one guy got arrested.
We now have four people who know the kitchen and can actually do the cooking. One of those people is an old lady who can only work four days a week. So everyone is going to end up working like 12 hour days for the rest of the summer.
Idk what we're going to do. We were working ourselves ragged before this, now we haven't even got enough people to get coverage if someone calls in sick. Sunday we had to close early because one guy called in for a “toothache”(I'm pretty sure he was attached to his girlfriend's hip at the county fair) and three of us just could not manage it.
I applied to work here because I thought they had a low employee turnover rate. Guess I was wrong. I've only been working here six months and I already dread my shifts. Hot dog cart is looking nicer and nicer every day.
