God Bless Customer Service Reps for Major Companies

About six months ago, I accepted a job that slowly turned into a customer service job. (I was told I’d be overseeing a portion of the phones once a week and it quickly turned into everyday/ me actually being on the phone everyday) I work from home and do nothing that my original job description talked about and have been on the phones for 90+ work days for 8 hours a day. I have been called every type of racial slur (I’m white), an idiot, moron, stupid, incompetent, unsuccessful, wash up and just about anything else you can think of. I get paid very well for what I do since my original job was for something else but they needed help so I got transferred and it brought me here. (Why I did not quit immediately) Today, I accepted my dream job (as far away from customer service as possible)…

I work from home and do nothing that my original job description talked about and have been on the phones for 90+ work days for 8 hours a day. I have been called every type of racial slur (I’m white), an idiot, moron, stupid, incompetent, unsuccessful, wash up and just about anything else you can think of. Today, I accepted my dream job (as far away from customer service as possible) and it’s a breath of fresh air knowing that I won’t have to get screamed at over the phone all throughout the day anymore. Obviously, not all calls are bad, but God bless customer service reps who have to deal with this all day. My mental health has declined tremendously as it’s very taxing getting talked to like you’re stupid every day for issues that are 90% of the time the customers fault for not paying attention.
