Walked out of my job because the owner declared that I’m “not committed enough to the position”

Until recently, I was one of several managers of a well known fast food restaurant. I busted my ass every day, closing 5 days a week, going in at 4 and often times not leaving until 2am. Keep in mind, I was working this hard for TEN DOLLARS AN HOUR. The 10 an hour was supposed to be a temporary raise until I was ServSafe Certified, yet I never received my raise to 13 dollars an hour. A few weeks ago, I received a job opportunity at a local banking chain offering over 20 dollars an hour and full benefits. I, of course, applied and interviewed for the position. In the end, I didn't receive it but that's neither here nor there. I informed my employer as that's the respectful thing to do as an employee(or so I thought) and a few weeks after, a coworker told me that there are plans in motion to demote me for my "commitment issues".
After finding this out, I simply took off my uniform, and walked out. Several of my ex employees have texted me saying that it's been extremely difficult without me, so it's clear that I was a vital part of management. Regardless of if I stayed as crew after my demotion, it obviously still would have been extremely difficult managing without me.
Sorry for any formatting issues and the super long post, I appreciate anyone who's read this far. Have a good day, and fuck capitalism.
