I've done menial manual labour, I've soldered electronics that regulate the speed of travellators, I've packed boxes, I've assembled intricate motherboards, I've been a skilled painter and decorator, I've cleaned, I've delivered food, I've sold perfume, I've been a joiner, I've worked on one of the top 10 highest grossing films of all time, I've operated unthinkably expensive cameras, I've worked on a BAFTA award wining short film, I've written and directed and edited my own short film, I've sound mixed, sound edited, and edited mine and other's short films, I've edited for some of the top law firms on the planet as well as some of the top creators on youtube.
So why am I finding it so hard to get work and pay rent? I'm not the only one. It's fucking pointless. I'm about ready to go live in the woods. But wild camping is illegal in the UK (not that that's ever stopped anyone).
I have a vast wealth of work experience, I could probably be dropped into any job and I'd figure it out, I mean, I have, just look at my experience above. Why is it so hard to get a job? Why do I have to pass some odd “guess our work policy” test before I can FUCKING STACK SHELVES IN A SUPERMARKET????
How the fuck do I know your store policy!?!?!?
I hate this, I hate it here. Why am I celebrating when I make rent? We have the means to end world hunger and stop global warming and put human life and welfare as priority 1. But we don't. Just the welfare of a few uber rich people.
I'm so sick of it. Both people that want to become the new prime minister here are proposing just the worst things like pay cuts in a cost of living greed crisis.
I hate this so much. I don't like having anxiety attacks that are caused by the stress of simply existing. Existing shouldn't be this difficult.
