The money was okay but I hated it and I hated the direction the company was heading. Management were becoming increasingly incompetent, slowly expecting us to do more with no increase in salary etc etc.
For 18 years I'd been there and had given them the best years of my life. The job had taken its toll on me physically and more so mentally, with the last year or so had me having a few mental breakdowns.
Handed my notice into my line manager who gave me the standard line of “we're sorry you've decided to go” etc. My last day comes and goes. No handshakes, no “thanks for your years of hard work”, no phone calls from any upper management or directors, not even an email or a text.
I had the chance to tell them exactly what I thought of them. How they were running the company into the ground, how their longest serving employees are all leaving because they get treated like a number by the new regime and how incompetent they all are. But for some reason I didn't and I suspect it'll be one of those things that will stay with me.
I know it's not the most interesting or shocking of stories but I just want to get it off my chest and to my previous employers
