CEO forcing me to switch seats

I work at a company which is fairly religious so much so that in the office I currently work in they have women and men sitting on separate sides of the office. I till now was working in another location and only recently switched to this office. When I switched there were no more seats on the men's side of the office so they were forced to put me on the edge of the women's side. The CEO came by this office the other day and saw where I'm sitting and has made it his mission to have me move to an aisle seat (one I don't want to move to because of the foot traffic/distraction). This brings me to my question, can he actually force me to move seats because they want to separate men and women? Office is in New Jersey USA if that makes a difference.
